FAQ
How can I get investment into my project from AIE Studios?
It will depend on the project but factors such as high visual effect content and virtual production, budget, local crew hire, length of shoot, how many AIE Alumni will be hired, if you are willing to take on students for internships etc – will be taken into consideration. Get in contact with us to discuss in more detail.
Can I dry hire the facilities?
Yes, subject to availability of course. But note that the Stages are really geared up for large budget, heavy VFX content and Virtual Production and are not cost effective for most smaller budget films.
This development has been on the cards for years! Is it really happening?
Yes it is! As you can imagine there are many moving parts in a project of this size. Purchasing the land, designing the studio, community consultations, lodging a development application and then the actual building. Some things happen a bit quicker, such as our partnership with the ACT Government building the Inner North playground North. But the countdown is on and we will be operational with Stage 1 by the end of 2026. Watch this space.
What is the relationship between the Academy of Interactive Entertainment and AIE Studios?
AIE Studios is a business unit of the Academy of Interactive Entertainment. As such, AIE Studios is a not-for-profit. Any “profit” is rolled back into the Academy of Interactive Entertainment for future investment into projects and facilities.
